Designing New Paradigms for Targeting the Tumor Environment

Shown here is a flourescent image of lipid nanoparticles targeted to endothelial cells.  Blood vessels are made of endothelial cells, and blood vessels are necessary for the tumor to survive. By designing nanoparticles that can be taken up endothelial cells, and filling these nanoparticles with a drug, the tumor can be annhilated. The video shows a 3-D reconstruction of PLGA nanoparticles in the HeLa tumor cells.
